One of the best perks of being a teacher is the summer holidays. On top of having a regular schedule with weekends off, I am so grateful for the winter and summer holidays. Gives me a chance to relax, re-focus, and recharge for the next school year.
What’s even better is, unlike in BC, teachers in Taiwan get paid during the summer holidays. Paid holidays? Sign me up! After months of planning, schedule juggling, persuading, discussing, and even more re-scheduling, my Vancouver 2014 plans finally came to fruition.
It was the usual unreal feeling when I stepped off the airplane and walked into the airport. Once I got home and a nice warm shower after, however, I settled right in. Caught up with old friends, roommate, and loved the west coast summer weather. It was A-MAZING! The love from family and friends was unbelievable. A year’s absence did the trick I suppose.
Fun times never last too long. 3 weeks of unbelievable fun ended just like that. With that, I feel recharged and re-focused for another school year at Kang Chiao. Let’s see what 2014/2015 has in store for me!
